Walking Through the Sea to a Hidden Paradise

Aerial view of Bella Vraka Beach, Sivota â one of the most unique beaches in Greece
Bella Vraka Beach in Sivota, Greece, is not just another beautiful beach â it’s an experience you don’t find easily elsewhere in the country.
What makes it truly unique is the way you get there. Instead of arriving by road or boat, you reach Bella Vraka by walking through the sea. A narrow strip of shallow, crystal-clear water connects the mainland with the small island of Mourtemeno, creating a natural passage that feels almost surreal. The water usually reaches from knee to waist level, turning the walk itself into one of the most memorable parts of your visit.
From above, the view is breathtaking â turquoise waters, golden sand, and lush green surroundings that frame one of the most exotic coastal landscapes in Epirus. It’s the defining image of the Sivota travel experience and the main reason most people choose to stay in Sivota for more than just a day.

The Beach Experience â What to Expect
Bella Vraka is a relatively small sandy beach, known for its calm, shallow waters and vibrant blue-green colours. It’s an ideal spot for relaxing, swimming, and simply enjoying the natural beauty around you.
Unlike many popular beaches, it remains unorganised, which adds to its charm. There are no beach bars or rows of sunbeds dominating the landscape â just sea, sand, and nature. It consistently tops the list of things to do in Sivota for first-time visitors, and features prominently in our guide to the 5+1 beaches in Sivota and Perdika.
This also means you should come prepared. Bringing water, snacks, and an umbrella is highly recommended, especially during the hot summer months. Just across the beach, on the same island, you’ll find additional small coves and quieter spots if you’re willing to explore a little further.
After your beach day, the waterfront restaurants in Sivota are just a short drive away â the perfect way to end an afternoon at Bella Vraka with fresh seafood and a view of the marina.
